How To Opt-Out Of MTN Do Not Disturb (DND)

It’s obvious that those who really disturb our cell phones are the network operators (MTN, Etisalat, Glo & Airtel), this is because you can hardly block their messages unlike other SMS and Short Code services you can use your call and message blocker app to silent forever.

Now, you will agree with me that we all receive a lot of important messages starting from our church, wedding, school, Job interview, bank alerts, events etc on our mobile phones.

Don’t miss out of crucial information just because of DND (Do Not Disturb). The best way to avoid unsolicited messages and calls is to use call and message blocker app.

You have to understand this before taking action on DND (Do Not Disturb) to avoid missing out a lot of information being passed on daily basis.

Opting out or subscribing to DND (Do Not Disturb) simply means you will not receive all messages sent to your line using Bulk SMS and other third party application which maybe important to you.

However, if you’re a Bulk SMS service provider or a Bulk SMS user you would have noticed that some of your messages are not being delivered to the recipients (particularly MTN subscribers), this is due to the NCC introduced “Do Not Disturb” policy which has been automatically activated by MTN on some of their subscribers line without the subscribers consent.

1. Confirm the status of your line by sending “STATUS” to 2442. If the service is automatically active on your line, then follow through with the next step to unsubscribe.
2. Send STOP to 2442
3. Send ALLOW to 2442

NB: Whenever DND is active on a line, the line will not be able to receive any message sent through Bulk SMS platform.

Pass this information across to your loved ones.
